I was only there for less than 12 hours, but Shenzhen is one of the most impressive cities I have ever visited. Shenzhen is what one would imagine Silicon Valley would look like after hearing it's the "richest large metropolitan area in the world."
The High Speed Rail from Kowloon Station to Shenzhen is about 15 minutes, maybe even less. I messed up and went to Shenzhenbei Station when I probably should have gone to Futian Station.
In China, you need to be prepared! I would have done and seen more if I pre-downloaded my eSIM and WeChat. Burned through a good hour and a half just trying to get online and connected. Cellular Data and WeChat is essential in China. Without it, you are in huge trouble.
Headed to Huaqiangbei after lunch. This is the biggest electronic market in the world.
We then visited a Huawei store. This is the most insane phone I have ever seen.
The electronic market has almost everything you can imagine and at a fraction of the price, if you know how to bargain!
We randomly stumbled on the self-flying car too!
I am pretty sure iShowSpeed rode in that exact same car.
We then went to Bao'an where there was supposedly night lights like Cyberpunk per an Instagram influencer's recommendation.
We got scammed, but got pretty good boba!
It was getting late, and we wanted to make sure we could catch the High Speed Rate back to Kowloon, so we left and headed to Futian Station.
Futian Station has park right above, and you can see the skyline of Shenzhen. It was very cloudy due to the rain, but still very impressive.
I should not be comparing Shenzhen to Philly 😂.
Also, all the High Speed Rail tickets back to Kowloon were sold out, so we had to resort to the MTR and walk across the boarder back to Hong Kong.
Definitely one of the craziest plot twists and days I had. Would love to come back and see more of Shenzhen!
